After a few months of listening to my friend Karen talk about her adventures in the kitchen, I finally invited myself over to watch her cook and take pictures, and, um, taste test for her.
The post about my day with Karen is coming soon, but I thought I'd give you a peek. She put out these apricots when I walked in the door. Yeah, she's that kind of person.
The apricots are from Don Baker Farm.

This was my first year eating fresh apricots.
I thought apricots were dried, shrivelly things people pack in trail mix. Okay, but nothing special.
Fresh, local apricots are awesome. A little tart, sweet, soft, delicate and thick all at once. I am jonesing for more.
